Well, that was prompt. Insurance company Aflac fired Gilbert Gottfried as the voice of its iconic duck on Monday after a series of tasteless Twitter jokes about the earthquake in Japan. The country was rocked by the 8.9 quake late last week, costing thousands their lives and sparking fears of potential nuclear fallout and tsunami-scale flooding.

He’s not usually known for putting his foot in his mouth, but 50 Cent definitely got people riled up with some insensitive tweets regarding the tsunami disaster in Japan. The “In Da Club” rapper took to his Twitter page to try and be funny, but all that ended up happening were some inflammatory remarks.

50 Cent’s "Things Fall Apart" Trailer

Treating fans to a glimpse of the upcoming theatrical project, the trailer for “Things Fall Apart” officially hit the web on Thursday (March 10). Starring 50 Cent and Ray Liotta , the film is “a drama centered around a promising football running back during his senior year in college.” For the feature, 50 Cent went above and beyond the call of duty by losing 50 lbs for his role’s various scenes while also acting as co-writer of the sports drama. With Mario Van Peebles taking on the dual role of actor and director, “Things Fall Apart” is still yet to set a release date at the current time

AnnaLynne McCord’s “Blood Out” Trailer Released

She’s most known for her snooty character on “90210” but AnnaLynne McCord looks to be expanding her acting horizons in “Blood Out.” The CW cutie’s new flick just released a trailer and it seems Miss McCord is getting in touch with her darker side in the role. According to press, “Blood Out” is about a small town sheriff who goes undercover to find his brother’s killer and avenge his death when big city detectives refuse to do their job.

50 Cent Scores “Freelancers” Gig

Continuing to expand his resume, 50 Cent has announced he’ll star in “Freelancers,” an upcoming crime drama. The “In Da Club” rapper will play the son of a murdered New York City police officer who joins the force only to find himself on a team of “rogue Gotham cops.” “Freelancers” will see Fiddy reunite with his “Candy Shop” music video director Jessy Terrero, who also directed “Soul Plane.” And it sounds like 50 is uber serious about his film career, as he told MTV News he hopes to win an Oscar someday
